Grove City, OH – Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce members will now have the ability to pool their electricity and natural gas usage into a “bulk electricity and natural gas buying group” and negotiate for lower rates. Affordable Gas & Electric will be coordinating the program on behalf of the members of the Grove City Chamber.
“Our interest in forming a bulk electricity and natural gas buying group was to work on behalf of our members to negotiate for lower electricity and natural gas rates,” said Shawn Conrad, Executive Director of the Grove City Chamber.
The program is a simple process to participate in. Members can go to the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce website at www.gcchamber.org and click on the link to download a registration form. That form will be sent in as expressed interest in the program. From there, usage will be compiled for the various members and shopped in bulk. When a winning bidder is chosen and a rate and term is negotiated, each member will receive a contract with the rates and terms and will execute and return the contract, securing the Chamber rate.
Affordable Gas & Electric coordinates similar programs for more than 15 chambers of commerce and has saved chamber members more than $1,800,000 over the past year.
“The dollars saved by chamber members fall directly to the bottom line. Those dollars allow for reinvestment in additional employees or other expansions” said Rob Wielt, Sr. Energy Consultant for AGE. “And the dollars are significant dollars” added Wielt.
